Savannah Georgia is a historic and gorgeous place to visit. Not only is it close to popular beaches like Hilton Head and Tybee Island, but it is the perfect location to stop if you are passing through on a road trip! Here, I have listed some of my favorite places from our visit.
Forsyth Park
This was definitely one of the most beautiful places I’ve been too. The sidewalks in the park were lined with huge oak trees covered in Spanish moss. This location is perfect for a casual picnic or an afternoon stroll.
The Coffee Fox
Being a coffee connoisseur, I love love love to find new coffee shops. Being a rather new shop, this location attracts tons of visitors. This is not your typical sweet Dunkin’ Donuts beverage because this coffee definitely has a kick. I am a huge fan of the cold brew we serve at Starbucks so I decided to give this a go. The coffee in this picture is nitro cold brew. This cold brew coffee was absolutely amazing. Nitrogenated cold brew is compared to Guinness because of its dark (almost black) base that slowly turns lighter and foamier as it reaches the top. The coffee itself is very smooth, rich and crisp.
Crystal Beer Parlor
If you are looking for a place to escape the hustle and bustle of downtown, I recommend visiting the Crystal Beer Parlor. Not only is their food delicious, but they have a generous selection of beer from different locations all throughout Georgia.
Leopold’s Ice Cream
This ice cream was delicious! If you are looking to get your sugar fix in Savannah, this is the place to go. This creamy, thick ice cream went perfectly smashed between two of their freshly baked chocolate chip cookies.
River Street
Have you ever heard of Savannah’s cobblestone roads? You can find some of those beautiful roads down here on River Street. River Street is lined with shops and restaurants that suit all ages. As you can probably tell by the name, River Street runs right next to the Savannah River. Here you will find festivals and fun that happen all year round!
Wet Willies
For those 21 and older folks out there that enjoy an occasional alcoholic beverage, please take my advice and head over to Wet Willies. All I can really say is wow! Let me tell you about this place. When you walk in, you will see a wall full of almost twenty different flavors of SLUSHIES! Wet Willies calls them frozen daiquiri’s but I like to think of them as creamy slushies. Each slushie (daiquiri) has a different blend of alcohol mixed into them. The bar tender will offer you one flavor of slushie or they can mix different flavors to make amazing drinks! This is not your typical bar people!
Tybee Island
Located just outside Savannah, Tybee island is a beautiful escape if you are looking to catch some rays and dive into the ocean. This is a pretty populated, family-friendly beach where you can go to dip your toes in the sand. We had an amazing time on the island and can’t wait to go back.
So whether you are looking for a vacation or on a road trip passing through, I would definitely recommend going or stopping in Savannah, Georgia. You wont be sorry!
Have a blast,
Sami
