Are you looking for ways to decorate your table this season?
Maybe you’re hosting your very first Thanksgiving at your new home or just wanting to spice up the table with some festive decor. Well you’ve found the right place! This month, Josh and I have decided to host a mini “friendsgiving” with another couple we are very close with. Deciding on decorations was difficult because I LOVE this season and could buy just about anything and everything that I see in any craft or home store. In result, I tried to keep the theme delicate and tasteful.
As you can see, the table is filled with some of my favorite things. I love anything earthy and natural so I used Eucalyptus branches to fill the empty spots on the table (not to mention they smell like heaven). I found the wooden chargers at target for such a great deal too!
Here is a quick rundown on where we bought the supplies and how much they cost.
Wooden Charger- $3 each at Target.
Eucalyptus bundle- $2.99 from Trader Joe’s.
Napkins- $2.49 from Michael’s. Okay so this was actually just a 1/2 yard of cotton fabric that I cut into four individual napkins.
Fresh Organic Herb Bundle- $2.99 from Trader Joe’s.
Name tags- $1.99 (set of 15) from Michael’s clearance section. I used the string that was holding them together to make my bow’s.
Coasters- $5.99 from Home Goods last year (we used a lot that we already had).
Table Cloth- $7 from Jo Ann Fabrics. Its just 2 yards of clearance fabric.
Luckily, we already had the silverware, wineglasses and white plates which we purchased at IKEA last year for about $20. That included a large set with plates, bowls and smaller plates. So as you can see, we didn’t really spend a ton of money of the table setting. We were able to get our creative pants on and get to work.
So lets do this together! Here’s what you will need.
Your favorite decorations or plants. (This is me screaming Trader Joe’s at you because their plants are beautiful and so budget friendly.)
Name tags with rope
A Sharpie Pen (or if you’re super fancy you can use a calligraphy pen).
Scissors
Fresh Herbs
1/2 yard cotton fabric of your choice. (This will be to make your napkins)
All of your silverware, plates and wine glasses
2 yards of favorite fabric for table cloth
Once you have all of your supplies and your creative ideas are flowing. Let’s get started.
Set up your table with everything you can. Then Start writing names or first initials on the name tags.
Place your herb over your napkin to ensure that it is the correct size for the plate.
Once your writing is complete and your herbs are set, tie them together with your ribbon or rope (tight) to create your beautiful place cards.
Lay them down onto your napkin once again and enjoy your amazing creative work. You did it!
Now that you’ve seen my table setting ideas, I want to see yours! I can’t wait to see how you decorate your table this season.
Happy Decorating,
Sami
